The Team

Steven Franco is the visionary creator of BarrioFit. He is a former track and field athlete with over 10 years of sprinting experience, earning 2x High School National Championships and 6x All American honors before continuing his career at Rider University and then Southern Connecticut State University.

Steven ran a sports performance business for 5 years and served as the Director of Sports Performance for the Charlotte Independence professional USL soccer team. His background in sports performance and personal training shaped his approach to fitness, blending high-energy movement with intentional coaching.

​As the son of two Dominican immigrants, Steven developed a deep love for Latin culture, music, and community. BarrioFit is his mission to create a welcoming space where people can experience Latin culture through health, wellness, and community.​Every event reflects his passion for movement, culture, and bringing people together.
